Program 03

HER Skills 4 Tourism Innovations

Learn. Design. Innovate. Create Opportunities.

HER Skills for Tourism Innovation is a practical programme focused on equipping young people, especially girls and young women, with skills, knowledge and opportunities in cultural tourism, digital innovation and the creative economy.

HER Skills 4 Tourism Innovations gives young African women the space and tools to explore tourism differently, identify opportunities and develop new ideas that respond to real needs. Participants explore tourism entrepreneurship, digital tools, creative experiences, destination innovation and new ways of connecting people, places and businesses.

About the programme

Turning local knowledge into responsible tourism ideas

The programme encourages participants to explore tourism challenges, develop creative ideas, use digital tools and design meaningful cultural experiences. It connects heritage, local knowledge and creativity with practical enterprise skills.

Participants examine destinations, visitor needs, community priorities and responsible tourism practices before developing and testing ideas for experiences, services or projects.

The aim is to help young people turn heritage and creativity into opportunities that can support sustainable livelihoods while respecting communities and places.
