Her African Culture creates learning spaces where young African women can explore their culture, develop practical skills and create new opportunities through storytelling, tourism and innovation. Our work currently focuses on three flagship programs.

HER Digital Heritage Bootcamp

HER Digital Heritage Bootcamp gives young African women the skills to find, document and share the stories, traditions and knowledge within their communities. Participants learn how to work with community members and knowledge holders, document heritage responsibly and turn what they discover into meaningful digital stories and records.

Participants work with a heritage subject from their own community and turn their research into a digital story that can be shared and preserved.

HERitage Connect is a networking and knowledge-exchange program by Her African Culture that brings girls and young women together with heritage professionals, cultural practitioners, researchers and digital creators.

HER Skills 4 Tourism Innovations gives young African women the space and tools to explore tourism differently, identify opportunities and develop new ideas that respond to real needs. Participants explore tourism entrepreneurship, digital tools, creative experiences, destination innovation and new ways of connecting people, places and businesses.
